News for the Carving Community

Percy Hornblow

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Percy Hornblow on May 5th.

Percy was an avid wood carver as well as the co-founder of Nutmeg Wood Working and Carving Shop Inc.  Percy was very involved in all aspects of carving, at carving clubs and teaching at the Brampton Seniors Club.

Our heartfelt sympathies to David and all of Percy’s family and friends.  Percy will be dearly missed by us all.

A Timeless Tip

John Poole submits this gentle reminder that our hands and fingers are to be treasured if we expect to enjoy our hobby for years to come.    A kevlar glove and friction tape to protect fingers from a glancing pass of a knife or chisel are essential accessories to carving.
